Looks like we will be needing lots of these...

Because we are having a GIRL!!?!?!?! Not at all what either one of us was expecting, but we are getting used to the idea of a teeny girl!!  We are down in Vegas visiting my family for Christmas, so to get us (me) in the girl spirit, we (I) have been hitting up all the after Christmas sales and getting girly things!! I'll have to post pictures later with all my cute finds!!!  We're thinking Camryn Paige for the name... not 100% sure yet, but we are about 90% on it!  When we are back home, I'll scan the ultrasound pictures so everyone can see!

Steve & Barry's.... Going Out of Business??

Ok, so while I was perusing Craigslist tonight (I usually check it out every few days to see if they have any good deals on baby items) someone posted that Steve & Barry's is going out of business and everything is %70 percent off!!! I think I might be making a special trip down there tomorrow-- full price is only $10ish, so I am thinking I might get some size 2-4 jeans to wear with the BellaBand, and maybe some cute winter coats or baggy shirts for when the belly explodes!!! So keep your fingers crossed that I get some awesome deals! XOXO

Second Appointment...

So I went in for my second appointment, but it was a little more like a first because I found a new midwife that will cost half of what the other place did.. Yay!! It was a pretty basic appointment. Lots of information about the new birthing center, a quick tour, and then I gave an um... "sample" and weighed myself (116... Gasp!!) and it was on to blood pressure and temperature check (all was normal). Then it was time to find the heartbeat. Anyone who has spoken to me recently knows that before every appointment (or at least these 2) I start to get this thought, "what if they can't find the heartbeat??" It doesn't give me super anxiety or anything, but it is always in the back of my mind. So my midwife had a girl who is from Kansas studying midwifery in Utah do a lot of the general stuff while she went over paperwork with me (i.e. blood pressure, temp..) and then she asked if this girl wanted to find the heartbeat. So I am lying there, and no joke, this girl tried for 5 minutes without finding ANYTHING! So needless to say there was a small part of me that was like, oh great... here it comes... But neither one of them seemed super concerned. After awhile the girl gave up, and handed the doppler to my midwife and she found it, no problem!! Whew!!! So all in all everything looks good, and I am scheduled for my next appointment January 6th!!

15 1/2 Weeks... My Lovely Baby Bump

So there it is folks!! It might look like nothing, but trust me, that bump makes a difference in the way my jeans fit!!! (Or rather, are struggling to fit..) Pretty soon it will be time to pull out the Bella Band (Thanks again Niki!!!) For now, I suck it in to button the jeans when I leave the house, and as soon as I get home, I undo the button or slip into PJs!!

Things have been pretty uneventful so far. Morning sickness is FINALLY gone (YAY!!!) and I am just waiting for my next midwife appointment on Wednesday morning.. I'll update if I get any new info. Rich is almost done with school (this is his finals week) and I am looking forward to having more cuddle time with him in the mornings now that he won't have to run off to school early!! We are heading to Vegas for Christmas with my family on my birthday *the 22nd* and Rich has promised me that we can stop at In N Out as many times as I want!! Woo hoo!! After a huge snow storm today, we are totally looking forward to warmer weather, and also some of this cute face.

More later!! XOXO

Time for a New Post...

No exciting pictures to post I'm afraid, but it is time to post again!!!  We're having a baby!!!  I'm 11 1/2 weeks, which puts me due May 29, 2009... but I have been warned to tell people I'm due in June to avoid questions in early May about when the kid is coming. Haha.  Things are going well... morning sickness is a total joke! They should call it first trimester + sickness.  It hits mornings mostly, but also at night!!! So unfair.  I had my first appointment yesterday, everything looks good, and we got to hear the heartbeat!!! Way crazy.  Well--- that's all I've got for now... no ultrasounds until around Christmas, so look forward to a more exciting post then!! XOXO

Lonely, I'm so lonely....

My Chardie has left me for five whole days, and I miss him like crazy!!!  Every summer he goes on a few rafting trips... some for work, and some for fun, leaving me bored out of my mind for days at a time.  Today is day 2... yesterday was spent crafting, (I will post pictures on my craft blog soon!) cooking (yummy yummy orzo salad all for me!!!), and watching tv.  Today is a special little nephew's 4th birthday, so I will head up to that around 3:30 to help decorate his CandyLand birthday cake!!! I'll bring my camera and try to capture it for the blog.  Tomorrow I'm back to work *wish me luck!* after a 2 1/2 week vacation, and then because of my new work schedule, I am off til Thurs!!! Oh what will I do with all my newly found free time???  Probably watch TV, and then sometime on Weds afternoon I will feel bad about Chardie coming home to a messy house, and I will clean my mess.

P.S. Sorry no pictures... yesterday I tried to upload some, but because of SLOW internet, I was unsuccessful.  I'll try to post some tomorrow while Penn naps!

Another Hawaii Post...

We have been having so much fun in Hawaii with Kempton and Jenny!!!  Today is our last day, and we are so sad to leave! Here are some highlights from the past few days...
Our beach house is just minutes away from the Hawaii temple, so we had to drive by and get a good picture!

We went snorkeling at Waimea Bay... it was SOOOO pretty!!

Jenny and I are so excited to get our snorkel on!!

Ahhhh......So gorgeous!

Right across from Waimea Bay there is a Catholic Church with this Jesus statue... Rich LOVED it!!

A little blurry, but we are enjoying dinner on our deck at the beach house.

Here we are posing in front of our next house... at Waimea Valley.  At least we have each other.

If you squint your eyes, you can barely make out the waterfall in the background.  What a disappointment.

Chardie and Kempo took the "chance of a lifetime" to swim in the waterfall pond.

The "Amazing" waterfall.  More like a trickle of water down a rock.

Chardie found a pretty flower for my hair!

Hahah not the best shot of me, but here we are on a canoe ride at the Polynesian Cultural Center.

Kempton and Jenny posing with the natives.

The cooked pig for the luau... it was so yummy!

We got lei'd.

After dinner we took the tour bus to the temple.

Pre parasailing!! They made us go first!!!

Look mom, no hands!!! No, actually I think I was using my death grip the entire time.

 Made it back!!!!! Woo hoo!!!!

We'll see if I get anymore pictures of our last day.... our rental car return is at noon, and flights aren't until 10pm, so we might be spending the day in the airport. Sad, huh???

Hawaii... the FIRST post!!!

We made it!!! After a 6 1/2 hour flight, Chardie and I are in Oahu with our good friends Kempton and Jenny.  We are having a BLAST!!! We spent the first day in Honolulu, and just got to our beach house on the North Shore a few hours ago...

Dinner... I can't remember the name of this place, but it was right by our hotel, all decorated in a Hawaiian theme, and had pretty good food!  Each meal came with a slice of pineapple.  How appropriate!

After dinner we walked around the beach, and sat down to eat some yummy macadamia nuts under this covered table... P.S. we're all a little F.O.P. (fresh off the plane!)

This is the covering for the tables we were sitting at... Rich thought this was awesome!!

K so this picture is slightly blurry, but in the middle of this little market there was this AMAZING tree with a waterfall in it!! Another favorite of the Chard...

This is the living room at our North Shore place.  If you look closely by the TV, you can see the 7 DVDs that come with this place.... including the Neverending Story 2, 50 First Dates, and Elmo in Grouchland!!

The patio overlooking the beach... SOOO pretty!!

The hot tub and bar.  Complete with flatscreen TV, surround sound, and a mini fridge fully stocked with beer!! (c:  We've already been in the hot tub, and are sad at the prospect of ever having to leave this place!

Our room.  Well actually, just our bed... Apparently this is the only part of the room Chardie cares about remembering!!! Gasp!!!!!

View of the water from the side of our deck... Ahhh..SOOOOO pretty!! More tomorrow!!! XOXO

American Idol Concert.... So Fun!!!!!!

So last month Chardie and I got to have most of my family come visit us (I say MOST because a certain SOMEONE didn't come... sad.).  We had a total blast!! Mostly we shopped and did some crafty things (pictures will come eventually)... but the last night they were here, my mom and I surprised Lindsay and Kylee with tickets (*and handmade shirts!) to the American Idol concert!!  We had a total blast- this was the first season I really watched every episode of, and the first season my mom and Kylee had ever seen-- and we totally got hooked!!

Here we are right before the concert.  If you look closely, you can see who we all voted for...

Lindsay and Kylee waiting for the show to start.  They are the Archuleta fans of the group...

Me and my mom.  She voted only once this season, and it was for Brooke White because she was afraid Brooke would get voted off.  It must have worked, because she didn't get voted off until the NEXT week!

Brooke White- she was so fun to watch because, being in Utah, everyone loved the little Mormon girl!

David Archuleta- oh my gosh... I wish words could describe how loud the screams were when he came out.  He's from Murray, Utah, and I swear 90% of the audience came just to see him.

Here I am waiting anxiously for my beloved to hit the stage... Mr. David Cook. The LAST performer of the night.

And he's FINALLY here!!! YUM! (P.S. I am a TOTAL screamer at concerts!)

Hahaha-- if you look at the screen in the background, you can see David Cook.  Haha. I was so excited.

Delicious.

All in all, I'd have to say that was the most fun I have had in a long time!  Thanks Mom!!

surprise!!! chardie is 23!!!

Happy birthday to you, happy birthday to you.... The Chard had his 23rd birthday yesterday, so I decided to throw him a little surprise bash with some of our friends!!  He started to piece things together the morning of, but I still think we did a pretty good job of surprising him!!!  We had a bring your own meat BBQ, fruit and veggie platters, chips and dip, drinks, and a chocolate satin pie!! Yum yum!!

They birthday boy.  We got him right after he got back from a day at Raging Waters!

I decided about an hour before the party that I needed something festive to wear, so I made an "I heart Chardie" shirt!

Amanda and Laura.  We all grew up together in Pasadena-- Amanda happens to live about 3 minutes away from us in Bountiful, so we get together all the time!! (Mainly for our LOST parties!) After knowing each other for our entire lives, Laura looked through some of her genealogy a few years ago and discovered that she and Rich are distant cousins!!  She's in Logan now, and we are so happy she was able to come down to celebrate with us!!

Marc and Jamie work at LifeLine with Chardie.  I think they got a little confused when Rich said "cheese" and heard "sleep!" Or maybe they are doing their best Ray Charles impressions....? They're getting married in August, and we are so sad we will miss their wedding, but we'll be in HAWAII!!

Dave works at LifeLine too!  He and Rich are super into anything Apple!!! I just met his wife Amy a few months ago at our first date with all the LifeLine married couples!  Dave and Chardie always tease us because we have recently decided that we are soul mates! (That's Aubree, their super cute one year old!)

We set up my SingStar game, and Kempton and Jenny were going to town!!!  It was hilarious! I think they were singing "Kiss from a Rose" by Seal. Haha! We met Kempton and Jenny our freshman year when they first started dating!! Now, 5 years later we all ended up married!! They drove up from Provo with their adorable 4 (almost 5) month old Caydon, but he was sleeping in a back bedroom when the camera was out... They're the ones we're going to Hawaii with!!

Here's a shot of some of the group in the living room.  We haven't put our couches back since we did the floor, so we just borrowed chairs from LifeLine!

Miss Aubree.  This girl cracks me up.  She came to the party wearing her black bracelets, and managed to get Amanda to loan her some pearls to complete the look!  She loved all the music, and had the cutest dance moves ever!!

The birthday pie.  Those must have been the fastest melting candles in the world, because once we lit them they started dripping like crazy!  We ended up scraping the top layer off the pie, but it still tasted good!

Happy 23rd Birthday Chardie!!!!!!

remodeling the living room floor

Ok, so I am FINALLY posting some more pictures of the condo!! We just finished putting in our living room floor, and we are totally LOVING it!!! We chose a laminate from Home Depot.  When we started this project, laminate was my very last flooring choice, but after we shopped around and talked to 2 flooring guys who said they prefer laminate to hard wood because of how hard it is, we decided that was the way to go!  (We have to keep reminding ourselves that this is not our "forever house," so we are choosing things that we like enough, but not necessarily what we'd pick for the dream place!) This stuff was $2.31/ square foot, and it had a lot of the features we liked, so it was a pretty easy decision to make!

Our A/C has been broken since the end of last summer (We didn't bother to fix it when it first broke because winter came, and the heat worked just fine... you know, out of sight, out of mind??) so this is the average temperature we have been remodeling at!!!  I am happy to report that it was finally fixed yesterday!!!

We usually give our cat Bob random items/garbage to play with (or he takes them on his own apparently) and they always manage to disappear!!  Chardie and I joke that when we move one day we will find Bob's stash.  Well when we moved our couch, this is what we found!!  Lots of twist ties, a toe separator, a couple of earplugs, rings from milk tops, etc... All of Bob's treasures.

This is the beginning of the project.  We ripped up the carpet that was originally in here, and there was this crumbly cement stuff that had lots of cracks in it!  Here I am vacuuming, thinking that we will just lay our floor right on top of this... Silly me.

Here is another shot with a view of the dining area!

Here is what we ended up doing. When Andelin men get started on a project, they can't just do what it easy.... they have to do what is right!  I know it's a good thing, but I ripped this floor up all by MYSELF!!

We bought cement board, and now we have a nice even canvas!  (I even got to use a power tool and put in the screws!)

This is the only picture we have with flooring actually in place.  We managed to convince Chardie's brother Jeff to help us lay it in one night!  Thanks Jeff!!
