Cam's BFF

Last night we went and hung out with our friends Dave and Aymee for the first time since Camryn was born. They have two cute girls: 2 year old Aubree, and 2 month old Sophie. It was so fun being pregnant with Aymee, because we could totally sympathize with each other about EVERYTHING (except I gained like 20 lbs more than she did... Boo.). So in honor of their first official meeting, we took some pictures of these cute babies together!!

K the above picture is NOT the best of me... I'm still a little "soft."

Cute little girls!!

Camryn is almost as tall as Sophie!! I couldn't believe it.

So there you have it. Cam loved meeting her BFF-- We are going to have some fun with these girls!

In other news, Camryn went to the pediatrician on Friday. She weighed 8 lbs 4 oz (65%), was 20.5 in long (80%) and has a head circumference of 14 in (50%). They also did the heel prick, which was the SADDEST thing ever. I was not a big fan. I think I cried more than she did. Not fun.

She is still a super good baby!! Only cries when she wants to eat, and is a really good sleeper!! (But only when she is sleeping next to one of us... NOT my favorite, but I am way too exhausted to fight with her.) We are going on our first road trip tomorrow, to Vegas and California, so look for a new post when we return!! XOXO

**Took Cam to a check up with my midwife today, and she's 8 lbs 7 oz now... what a little chunker!!**

Little Miss Camryn

Yeah, we are NOT so good at taking pictures of Cam!! Haha.. Right now she sleeps a LOT, and even though we think she is the cutest little stinker on the planet, we don't think to take a million pictures where she looks exactly the same!!!

We took this one about an hour ago, and she is still sleeping. We'll have to wake her up soon to eat, because her pattern the past 2 nights has been staying up til early morning hours, and I am not a big fan of that. (I can't complain much... last night she was up til a little after 2, but then didn't wake up to eat til 7:30... and then after she ate, she went back to sleep til 11ish.)

K so this was her second bath. Rich slept through the first one. She actually really likes being in the tub! She gets a little fussy when we wash her hair, but all we ever get out of the girl are a few grunts, and then she's over it.

Just hanging out...

Angry about something... But not even worked up enough to go red in the face.

Back to sleep. YAY!!

So those are the highlights of the week. I can't believe my baby is a week old already. It's been a pretty easy week. She is such a good baby (so far!). Really mellow, loves the car, being outside, being swaddled, eating, and getting her diaper changed.

Pictures!!

Here she is!! Freshly born...
Today....

I know we must seem like terrible parents, but this is ALL we have!! More to come....

Camryn Paige

She is HERE!! *Unfortunately pictures are not. Had a very long day yesterday, so I will get some up later today!*

Here is the story:

Friday afternoon Rich's cute cousin Kathleen took me to walk around The Gateway (she was so awesome this last month- went with me to get pedicures, painted my toes when the pedi chipped, and took me walking lots!). We walked all over, and even got a new outfit for Camryn. She dropped me off at home around quarter to 5, and I started having mild, but pretty regular contractions!!

We decided to go out to dinner and see if these contractions kept up, or went away. This past week I'd been having lots of contractions that lasted a few hours and then stopped, so we didn't want to get our hopes up. When we got home, they were still happening, about every 8 mins or so, so we watched our new favorite tv show Fringe... (gotta love Hulu.com!!) Around midnight we decided to go to bed. That didn't work so well for me. Since Camryn was posterior (again!) I started having some back labor, so everytime I'd contract, I wanted Rich to rub my back... I finally decided that since I function fine on little to no sleep, and he doesn't, that I'd let Rich sleep as long as I could handle it, and came out to the living room. A little after 2:30 I went and got him. We noticed contractions were 3 mins apart around 4, and around 4:30 we headed down to the birthing center (a 45 min drive).

We got to the center a little after 5, my midwife Bridgett checked me and I was only a 2!! (Kinda upsetting!) So she left us to rest and hang out... not much resting happened... just more Fringe, contractions, and backrubs. At 7:30 she checked me and I was a 5!! Yay!! Back labor was getting a little intense, so I got in the tub, which was AWESOME. Helped out SO MUCH.

The rest of this is kind of a blur. At 8:50 she checked me again and I was an 8. At some point after that she checked me and I was a 10!! I started pushing a little on the bed to see if it would feel better and my water broke!! Then we moved to the toliet to see if gravity would help move things along. Back labor STILL was taking over my life, so I moved to the tub. And that's where I had her. The paper work Bridgett gave us said I pushed for an hour and 39 minutes, but I'm not sure if that included pushing a little on the bed and toilet, or if that was how long I pushed in the tub. I didn't feel like I pushed in the tub all that long, but honestly I have no idea!!

Camryn was born at 11:54am. Weighed in at 7 lbs 14 oz, and was 20.5 inches long. She didn't really cry when she was born. She coughed out the fluid, and just stared at us. So cute!! After the placenta came out Rich cut the cord, held her, and I got out of the tub and got on the bed. We were examed, and everything was good!! (I didn't need stitches... YAY!!!!)

After I ate and fed Camryn, the 3 of us took a nap on the queen bed in our room for about an hour, woke up, and left the birthing center around 5pm. We could have stayed til 9:30pm, but we were ready to get out of there. Stopped by Rich's parent's house on the way home to show off the girl, and went home!!!

Rich's sister Kristi brought us some yummy dinner, had some neighbors come over, and went to bed around 11. We were EXHAUSTED!!! She only woke up twice last night to eat. Once at 3:30, once at 6:30. (I would love it if she kept that up, but we'll see what happens once the "honeymoon phase" is over...) So far she is an AWESOME baby. Doesn't cry at all when we change her nasty meconium diapers, doesn't really cry at all... so far!

Ok, well she is up now, and wanting to eat!! After I shower and get a little more normal today we'll take some pictures!!

40 Week Pictures

There you have it. 40 weeks (tomorrow) and SOOO uncomfortable!!! I swear, it feels way bigger than it looks in these pictures. Here is a "bare" shot so you can get an idea of how big it really is.

P.S. I appreciate your sympathy...

40 Weeks Tomorrow.... and Ready to DIE!

I had another appointment today with my midwife. I had her do "something" (trying to keep this G rated) to try to get labor started. We'll see if it works!!! I'm only dilated 1 cm, 50% effaced, and she's minus 3. Don't know exactly what that means as far as how close I am... but hopefully things will progress!! Things are looking good with Camryn (of course). She's just happy as a clam in there. I, on the other hand, am ready for her to get OUT!! Any suggestions?? P.S. I tried to post pictures, but they wouldn't upload. Will try again when Rich gets home tonight!! XOXO

Pictures!!

Ok, so I have promised to post these pictures for about a week now... and I am FINALLY getting around to it!

I needed a headrest for my car seat, and I wanted to be a little picky about getting one that coordinated. You can't have a stinking cute car seat cover, and hide it behind a headrest that doesn't match!!

Now I totally should have taken a "before" picture for this one. I had a friend who gave me this swing that she was done using (She is SO NICE, she gave me LOADS of fun stuff!). Swing was in mint condition, but the fabric was not my favorite, so I made this cover!! I think it turned out so great (yes I am tooting my own horn... I'm not really that great at the sewing thing!).

My cute friend Aymee made this sign for Camryn's door in all my colors! She is so crafty!!

This is the updated dresser top. Not the best picture, but I am working with a 2 megapixel camera here!! (Pathetic, huh?) Aymee made the tiny picture frame and both of the standing clothespins in the back holding quotes.

Here is the view from the door. Don't mind the stroller, the metal cutters on the changing table, the diaper bag hanging from the crib, or the baby monitor on top of the crib.

Here is the front view of the crib (complete with the magnet board we made to hold Camryn's name!) Again, ignore the vacuum. We still need to clean out space in a closet for it...

And I just realized this is almost identical to the above picture, but minus the magnet board. More of my cute crib!! I LOVE IT!!! (I had some major drama getting it here. Ordered it February 5th, was back ordered until early April... then back ordered til the end of April... THEN back ordered until May 28!!!!!! So I looked around and found it at another store in Salt Lake.. and they had one IN STOCK for $50 cheaper than the other place! I canceled my previous order, received a full refund, and grabbed this!!!)
